Whether you’re grabbing a quick cuppa, breakfast, a longer lunch or afternoon tea, enjoy a warm welcome all year round. Our Cafe, Garden and Playground are now open – but please remember they’re for Café customers’ use only.

Kids of all ages will love exploring our exciting natural playground. Designed especially for our walled garden, enjoy hours of fun on swings, slides and a castle fit for every little king and queen.
Explore willow tunnels, a tower bridge swing and search our sand pit for buried treasure. Our playground has something for the whole family to enjoy.

Finding The Walled Garden
Slap bang in the centre of Bamburgh, opposite St Aidan’s Church, Bamburgh Walled Garden is easily reached by car, bus, bike or on foot.
Parking is available in the council car park, Bamburgh Castle car park and seasonally in the Glebe Field next to the church.
Limited disabled parking is available solely for users of the Bamburgh Changing Places Toilet, accessed alongside the RNLI Grace Darling Museum.

Bamburgh Walled Garden is open daily from 8:30am to 4:00pm.
We do get busy at weekends and lunch times when it's best to reserve a table. Please email info@bamburghwalledgarden.com to request a table or enter your details on the Reserve a Table button on the Café page. We're unable to take reservations less than 24h in advance.
Walk ins are welcome although you may have a little wait at busy times but we'll always do our best to help you get seated. Thank you in advance for your patience.
No! There’s no admission charge to come inside Bamburgh Walled Garden but you must be a Café or Bamburgh Walled Garden customer to use the playground and gardens.
Only food and drinks bought from Bamburgh Walled Garden café and Takeaway can be consumed in the Playground and Garden areas.
You must have purchased food or drink from Bamburgh Walled Garden Café or Takeaway to be able to use the Playground and Garden.
Well-behaved dogs on short leads are welcome in the Café and terrace. Please be sure to clean up after them and stay with them at all times. For everyone's safety and enjoyment dogs are not allowed in the playground and sensory garden. If you're dog is getting particularly vocal inside the Café you will be asked to take it outside.
Yes! We have on site baby changing facilities.
Parking is available in the Council’s Links Road car park and at Bamburgh Castle car park. A temporary seasonal car park is located in the Glebe Field next to St Aidan’s Church. On street parking is also available directly outside alongside the Grove and Front Street. Parking outside the Changing Places Toilet is for users of these facilities only. No other cars, including blue badge holders are able to park here. Thank you for understanding.
We are proud to be fully accessible. Our garden and café is step free. A path links the café with the sensory garden, playground and Changing Places Toilet.
Not at all. Our CPT will be available for anyone with additional accessible requirements. Short stay disabled parking alongside the facility is for CPT users only. Blue badge holders are not allowed to park in the CPT spaces unless you are using the facilities as a RADAR key holder. Thank you for understanding.
